Nevada County Nutcracker Auditions

2026 Season

We are excited to welcome dancers back for another magical season of the Nevada County Nutcracker! Auditions will be held Saturday, August 29.

Audition Times

Please attend the time for the age you are the day of auditions

Ages 3–5: 9:30–10:00 AM
Ages 6–7: 10:00–10:30 AM
Ages 8–9: 10:30–11:00 AM
Ages 10–11: 11:00–11:30 AM
Ages 12–13: 11:45 AM–12:15 PM
Ages 14 & Up: 12:40–1:10 PM
Party Scene Adults: 1:10–1:25 PM

Pointe Auditions (must come to regular age time audition prior)

Ages 10–11: 11:40–11:55 AM
Ages 12–13: 12:25–12:40 PM
Ages 14 & Up: 1:20–1:35 PM

Please arrive 15 minutes early to check in, fill out paperwork and warm up.

Participation Fees

Fees include choreography, costume rental, Nutcracker shirt, required tights, and one pair of show ballet shoes. (Men’s jazz shoes add $10.)

Participation fees are non-refundable.

Rehearsal Expectations

Rehearsals begin Saturday, September 12 and continue through December. 2026 Show dates are December 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th.

Rehearsals are typically 30–60 minutes depending on casting. A complete schedule will be emailed once casting is finalized.

Attendance is required. Dancers may miss up to two rehearsals; additional absences may affect performance eligibility. Communication is essential if an absence occurs.

Dancers must come prepared with appropriate dance attire and shoes for all rehearsals. Dancewear and shoes are available through the studio store.
