DANCEWEAR AT CENTER STAGE
Class Attire & Dress Code
Proper dance attire helps instructors see alignment, provide corrections, and keep dancers safe while allowing them to move comfortably. Please come to class prepared with clothing that is fitted, comfortable, and easy to move in.
General Dress Code
- Hair must be pulled back and away from the face.
- Buns are required for all ballet classes.
- No loose jewelry is permitted during class.
- Sports bras, crop tops, and bare midriffs are not permitted as dance attire.
- Please label all dance shoes and personal items.
Attire by Class
Ballet
- Leotard (any color)
- Tights
- Pink ballet slippers
Warm-ups and ballet skirts may be worn with instructor approval.
Pointe & Pre-Pointe
- Leotard (any color) and tights
- Footwear may include ballet slippers, pre-pointe shoes, or pointe shoes
Pointe shoes may only be worn with instructor approval.
Jazz, Contemporary & Modern
- Leotard (any color)
- Fitted bottoms such as:
- Black tights
- Leggings
- Jazz pants
- Ballet Shoes, Jazz shoes or paws (please check with your instructor for class preference)
Tap
- Comfortable clothing that allows easy movement
- Tap shoes required
Pre-Dance & Combo Classes
- Leotard, ballet dress, skirt, and tights
- Please make sure your dancer has the correct shoes for class:
- Ballet slippers
- Tap shoes
- Jazz shoes
If you have questions about required footwear, please email the studio.
Hip Hop
- Loose-fitting clothing that is comfortable and easy to move in
- Tennis shoes that have not been worn outside.
- Please check with your instructor for specific class requirements.
